Arsenal have some injury concerns after Tuesday night’s Champions League win against Slavia Prague
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be hoping injury concerns do not worsen with no players expected to return anytime soon. The Gunners have suffered several significant absences throughout the season, most recently with an injury to Victor Goqueres.
“He (Victor) did not train today (Monday). We need further tests and scans to understand the extent of the injury,” Arteta said ahead of the Champions League game in Prague. “So we’re looking a little more closely to understand the circumstances of the injury and will make an announcement once we know more.”
Arteta’s comments about Gokeres’ injury may cause concern, but there is a potential boost for Arsenal.

After this weekend’s Premier League game against Sunderland, the final international break of 2025 begins, with Arsenal not playing again until the North London derby against Tottenham on Sunday 23 November, reports football.london.
Even if the 27-year-old is sidelined for just a few weeks, he is likely to miss only one more game, against Arsenal.
At the moment, it seems unlikely that Gökeres will join up with Sweden during his two-week break from club football, and if that were the case, he would be able to stay at London Colney for rehabilitation.
Arteta made extensive rotations in his squad ahead of the trip to the Czech Republic, but this had little effect on the team’s performance, as they secured a comfortable 3-0 win in Prague.
Martin Zvimendi was suspended for the game, while Declan Rice managed to avoid a third booking which would rule him out of the next European game against Bayern Munich.
The win over Slavia Prague did not raise any new injury concerns, but there was some concern over Gabriel Magalhães’ possible concussion.
The Brazilian defender suffered facial injuries in the 18th-minute collision and required treatment, but was able to play in the match.
However, there is optimism that the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard, Noni Madueke and Kai Havertz could return in November.
“It’s going to take a few weeks and I hope some of them get well soon,” Arteta said of the four players in his latest injury update.
“If they continue to evolve the way they are. It’s hard to play games…We have the international break and I think we’ll get some back after that. I don’t know if it’s going to be all of them or some of them, but we’ll be pretty close by then.”
Gabriel Jesus remains sidelined with a long-term knee injury sustained in January, but is expected to return in the final months of the year.
