Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma was accused of having more than £800,000 stolen from his VIP bank account, leading to a fraud case in which several people have been charged with transferring the money to themselves.
A person has been charged in connection with a fraud in which Tottenham star Yves Bissouma was allegedly robbed of more than £800,000 from his VIP Coutts bank account.
The midfielder’s loss is said to have occurred between September 2022 and June 2024, and Bissouma himself sounded the alarm. Maurice Gomez, 31, was first arrested more than a year ago and is currently facing charges.
The Sun has obtained court records showing Gomez is suspected of “dishonestly” transferring Bissouma’s cash to himself without the player’s “knowledge or consent.” Prosecutors allege Gomez transferred a total of £834,334.40 to himself “for personal benefit”.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Mr Gomez was charged in October with two counts of fraud by false representation. If convicted, each offense carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
Bisouuma is affiliated with Coutts Bank, which is used by many celebrities, billionaires and royalty. The Mali international is thought to earn around £50,000 a week while playing for the north London team.

A source said: “This is very hurtful for Yves. It’s been a tough year for him on and off the pitch. The weight of this weighing on his head probably played into that.”
Bissouma was injured on international duty in October and is currently sidelined due to injury. He has struggled to impress new manager Thomas Frank, who prefers other options in the center of the pitch, and could still be out for a long time.
