Harry Kane’s £57m release clause at Bayern Munich will take effect in next summer’s transfer window, with Barcelona shortlisting him to replace Robert Lewandowski.
Harry Kane is open to joining Barcelona and has set a timetable to decide his future. Kane, 32, is on course for his best-scoring season in history, having scored an astonishing 22 goals in his first 15 games for Bayern Munich.
The England captain helped Bayern to a record-breaking start to the season, but his long-term future in Germany is uncertain. Kane has a contract with the Bundesliga champions until 2027.
However, the deal contains a complex release clause worth €65m (about £57m) and is due to come into effect next summer. Like Barça, Premier League teams are also keeping an eye on his situation.
The La Liga giants are looking for their next No.9 as Robert Lewandowski’s contract expires next June. Their top target is Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, but Kane has emerged as a likely option.
Catalan newspaper Sport has reported that the striker is considering a move to Barcelona, but will only make a decision on his future towards the end of this season. Barça could match Kane’s current salary, but other clubs are expected to make better offers.

It is also said that Tottenham, who initially rejected the 32-year-old’s release clause, are desperate to bring him back after selling him to Bayern in 2023. But just last month, Kane effectively ruled out a return to the Premier League next summer. He claimed that he was very happy in Munich and was considering extending his stay.
“In terms of staying there for a long time, I could definitely see that,” the former Spurs star admitted. “I haven’t had any such conversations with Bayern yet, but if there is such a conversation I would be happy to have it and have an honest discussion with them.
“Obviously, it depends on how the next year or so goes and what we accomplish together. We’re in a great moment right now and we’re not thinking about anything else.”

“As for the Premier League, I don’t know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said I would definitely come back.
“I’ve been there a few years now, probably not as much, a little less, but I wouldn’t say I’d never go back.
“What I have learned in my career is that different opportunities and timings happen and things work out. Going back to my first point with Bayern, I am now completely committed to Bayern.”
