Aaron Ramsey has released an emotional statement, with the Wales captain confirming that his dog Halo has gone missing in Mexico and is presumed dead, saying the ordeal “continues to haunt” him and his family.
Former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey has released a heartbreaking statement revealing his dog Halo is now presumed dead, saying the ordeal will “continue to haunt” him and his family.
The Welsh captain, who reportedly left Mexico following his pet’s tragic disappearance, said it had been four weeks since Halo disappeared and despite exhaustive efforts to find her, they had to face the possibility that she was “probably dead”.
Mr Ramsay, his wife Colleen and their three children are devastated by the mysterious turn of events and have publicly stated their belief they were duped after the search for their missing 10-year-old dog failed despite a huge reward being offered.
Ramsey echoed his wife Colleen’s words in a heartbreaking message posted on social media. “It’s been four weeks since Halo went missing.

“We didn’t know she had been missing for a week. We did everything we could for three weeks to find her and find answers,” Wales Online reported.
“I don’t think we’ll ever know what happened. We’re not going to ‘move on’ from this situation, as you usually do. This issue will continue to haunt us.”
“We have to try to accept that she is likely dead.
“I would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers over the past three weeks.”
According to various reports, the 34-year-old was in Mexico with his family before returning last week.
The midfielder was given compassionate leave just a few days ago, with the club and his teammates rallying behind him in full support.
Pumas UNAM has yet to issue official confirmation that Ramsey’s contract has been terminated by mutual consent.
Ramsey has previously opened up about the importance of Halo to his family, with reports at the time of his disappearance saying the midfielder was “distraught” as the search for him escalated.
In the latest update, the search appears to have reached a devastating conclusion, with Ramsey admitting that he may never find out what happened.
In the wake of this tragedy, he and his loved ones received an outpouring of sympathy and solidarity from supporters and former colleagues.
“Since you guys don’t know much about Halo, let me tell you a little bit about her,” Colleen wrote on her social media account.
“We will continue our search, but we must accept that she is likely deceased. Thank you for your support.”
