Sancho enjoyed a productive spell at Dortmund in 2024, returning to the club on loan from United and playing a key role in their run to the Champions League final.
Former England and Liverpool forward Emile Heskey believes Sancho should consider another move if he is serious about reviving his career.
Sancho’s contract with United expires in June, at which point he will leave Old Trafford as a free agent.
Heskey told 10bet: “Jadon has a great relationship with Dortmund in the Bundesliga and that’s a potential path for him to take.”
“When he went back there on loan, he was in the Champions League final. So it’s possible and you would think he could always go back there, especially on a free transfer.”
Sancho has also attracted interest from several Italian clubs, but Heskey has warned Sancho that he needs to have the right mentality if he chooses Serie A.
He further commented, “I think Italy might work out well for him, but the only thing he needs to do is make sure his mindset is right and he is ready to work hard.”
“I’m not kidding. It could be a rude awakening for him in Serie A. That might be what he needs to buckle down and get back to his best.”
Sancho is tied to United until the end of the season, at which point he could leave on a free transfer. However, the Red Devils may decide to extend his contract for a year in the hope of earning a signing bonus.
