Manchester United are reportedly planning to prevent some players from leaving the club during the January transfer window.
The Reds have brought in four new signings over the summer as Ruben Amorim prepares for his first full season in charge at Old Trafford. Since then, United have climbed to sixth in the Premier League, winning every game in the top flight.
One of our summer signings is Brian Mbeumo, who has scored five goals since arriving from Brentford. However, United will soon be without a forward.
Mbeumo could be included in Cameroon’s squad for the African Cup of Nations, scheduled for December and January. If selected, the 26-year-old will be unable to feature for United during Cameroon’s participation in the tournament and could miss a number of matches for the club, reports Manchester Evening News.

As a result, United decided in January not to allow certain players to leave the club, The Sun reported.
Joshua Zirkzee and Koby Mainu are two players rumored to be linked with a move away from United over the winter.
At the weekend, it was reported that Zirkzee is set to request an away transfer from United in the coming period, with West Ham United leading the charge in making an offer for the Dutch international.
The 24-year-old scored just seven goals in 49 appearances in all competitions last season.
Zirksee has only made four appearances this season, with his last league goal for United coming in December last year, a full 10 months ago. There is also speculation that Mainu could leave the Red Devils midway through the season.
However, reports suggest that if either player expresses a desire to leave Old Trafford, United will not let them go in the new year.
Amad Diallo and Nousair Mazraoui could also be called up for the African Cup of Nations, which would see them sidelined for several weeks at United.
With Mbeumo, Amadou and Mazraoui departing for the African Cup of Nations, Zirkzee, Mainu and the rest of the United squad could be given more playing time.
