Nuno Espirito Santo has had a difficult start to life at West Ham United, but the Irons have made a decision on the former Wolves manager’s future and the January transfer window
West Ham have maintained their faith in manager Nuno Espirito Santo and have no intention of following in the footsteps of Nottingham Forest by sacking their second manager of the season. The Irons only appointed Nuno last month after he was relieved of his duties by Forest manager.
The former Wolves manager has been unable to halt West Ham’s dreadful Premier League run and are yet to win since replacing Graham Potter in the dugout at the London Stadium. The Hammers have picked up just one point in Nuno’s first four games and have lost three in a row.
West Ham are set to back Nuno in the January transfer window, with his squad selection under intense scrutiny following their last two defeats against Leeds and Brentford, according to reports. The club hopes this will put them out of danger of being relegated.
This stance is in contrast to Forest, who have not won a Premier League game since parting ways with Nuno. Ange Postecoglou’s spell didn’t last long, with Sean Dyche now in charge at the City Ground.
But despite the latter’s early win against Porto, the Irons have opted to maintain faith in their manager, who has struggled of late. Additional additions may follow before and after.

Mr Nuno has already spoken out about the amount of change needed in east London. However, the Portuguese coach was forced to admit that he was also at fault.
“Unfortunately, our club has a lot of problems,” he said. “It’s not our responsibility to hide behind the problem. Everyone has to stay alive, do more and be in the right position.
“We didn’t deal with the defensive situation and we felt we needed a striker to keep the ball. So it might not be the best thing for me. These kinds of mistakes are unacceptable in the Premier League.”

“The quality is there, the time is there, but if we don’t change, nothing will happen,” he added.
“We have to change our attitude. We have to change the way we approach things. We have to work better, we have to prepare better, we have to try harder. That’s the reality of it all.”
“We don’t expect things to change on their own. Even if we recognize we have time, we could be wrong if we don’t change things soon.”
