Marcus Rashford is in fine form for Barcelona and his assist in Sunday’s El Clasico against Real Madrid should send a tough message to Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim.
Marcus Rashford’s latest impact on Barcelona against Real Madrid on Sunday will serve as a stark reminder to Ruben Amorim of the talent Manchester United lack. The Red Devils star joined Catalonia on a season-long loan this summer after being sidelined at Old Trafford following Amorim’s appointment last November.
Rashford was left out of the Portuguese manager’s plans and as a result spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. Although not yet in Amorim’s plans when he returned from the Midlands, the 27-year-old was keen to secure another move away from United, whether temporary or permanent.
His wish came true when Barcelona swooped in to secure him on a one-year loan with an option to buy, and it’s safe to say Rashford has grown with the Catalan giants ever since.

The striker has already scored five goals in 12 games in all competitions and provided his seventh assist of the season against Real Madrid in El Clasico on Sunday afternoon.
Kylian Mbappé’s early goal put them within one point, but in the 38th minute Alejandro Balde collected the ball in front of Madrid’s box before breaking through the final line to find Rashford.
In a display of great sportsmanship, the Englishman passed the ball to Fermin López, who sent the ball past a helpless Thibaut Courtois.
Barcelona’s lead was short-lived as Jude Bellingham equalized just before half-time, giving the home side a 2-1 victory.
Rashford’s impressive performances this season should serve as a wake-up call to Amorim, who may have overlooked one of United’s brightest stars too early in his tenure.
Rashford is on loan at Barcelona until the end of the season, but the Manchester Evening News reports that the club have an option to buy him for around £30 million.
This could be a bargain if Barca decide to take up this option, especially considering Rashford’s market value is likely to rise if he continues to shine in La Liga and the Champions League.
Manchester United are in good form despite losing one of their most talented academy graduates. The club are currently on a three-game winning streak, with wins over Sunderland, Liverpool and most recently Brighton.
United beat the Seagulls 4-2 at home on Saturday night, with goals from Matheus Cunha and Casemiro and a double from Brian Mbeumo offsetting scores from Danny Welbeck and Sharalampos Kostouras.
