Victoria Beckham made an impression at her husband David Beckham’s birthday party shortly after he completed his move from Real Madrid to Los Angeles Galaxy in 2007.
Victoria Beckham made a huge impression with her antics at a party shortly after her husband joined the LA Galaxy. David Beckham shocked the sports world when he signed with the Galaxy in 2007.
The former England captain has made an unlikely move from Real Madrid to MLS, signing a five-year contract. Beckham’s blockbuster move subsequently brought star players such as former Three Lions team-mates Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney to the American side near the end of their careers.
The Beckham family moved to Los Angeles, combining their sporting ambitions with the inevitable celebrity attention. While David struggled to find immediate success with his new team, Victoria proved to be a force off the pitch as well.
Insight into how Victoria accepted her new life in America came from former Galaxy striker Carlos Pavon’s son. The Hodrun forward was at the club during David’s first year at the club, and his son Carlos Pavon Jr. recalled the time he spent with the Beckham family, including memories of Victoria at one of his sons’ birthday parties.
“I was playing with[Beckham’s]son on the inflatable trampoline, jumping up and down, and out of nowhere I noticed David’s wife Victoria, the child’s mother, walking in,” Pavon Jr. told the podcast La Pelota Al DIEZ, recalling a birthday party in the park.

“She started jumping with us and I was like, ‘I can’t believe we’re doing this with Victoria Beckham.’ So I think that was the funniest part. She came in and started jumping with us, and we all watched. Then when I came out, I think everyone saw my surprised face. They were like, ‘Wow, that just happened.'” It was really funny. ”
Pavon Sr.’s soccer career included stints in Mexico, Spain, Italy, Colombia and his native Honduras, where he also represented the country at the 2010 World Cup. But for Pavon Jr., the short time his family spent in Los Angeles felt like a scene from a movie.
“It was incredible. I was 12 years old, so I was a little bit between childhood and adolescence, but I remember it well and it was completely different then,” he recalled. “I really felt it, I felt it had nothing to do with Italy, Mexico or Honduras.
“There we literally felt like we were in Hollywood, the people we interacted with, the cars, the food, the house, everything was like another level, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, and well, David Beckham’s presence also had a huge impact on it.
“I followed him and played with him in FIFA and everything else, so to see him in person and interact with him and his family was almost like a dream, like it wasn’t real.”
A few years after Pavón left the club, David began to experience the success in football that many expected him to do right away. Towards the end of his career, the former Manchester United star helped the club win back-to-back MLS Cup titles in 2011 and 2012.
Meanwhile, Victoria launched her fashion brand a year after moving to America. The former Spice Girl won praise for her work as a fashion designer as the Beckham family adjusted to life in America.
David continues to build his legacy in MLS as co-owner of Inter Miami. The team attracted global attention with the signing of Lionel Messi in 2023, winning the League Cup and Supporters’ Shield during the Argentine icon’s time at the club.
