Joshua Zirkzee knows he has no future at Manchester United and plans to leave in January to keep his World Cup dream alive
Joshua Zirkzee will want to leave Manchester United in the next transfer window. And West Ham are leading the charge to give the Dutch international an escape from the Old Trafford nightmare.
Zirkzee has endured a tough period at United since joining from Bologna in a £36m deal when Erik ten Hag was still manager. The forward failed to make an impact and was a source of entertainment for United fans as he failed to score a goal.
The 24-year-old scored just seven goals in 49 appearances in all competitions last season. He has made just four appearances this season, with his last league goal for United coming 10 months ago in December.

United manager Ruben Amorim has decided that Zirksee is not part of his long-term plans. Meanwhile, Zirkzee’s situation has worsened with the summer signings of Brian Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesco.
Zirksee has fallen down the pecking order and knows he needs to leave United if he is to revive his flagging career. United bosses are thought to be open to offers for Zirksee in the January transfer window.
On the other hand, there is also the option for Zirksee to move on loan to another club for the remainder of the season with the aim of making the move permanent. Zirksee fears his inability to play with the first team could jeopardize his hopes of representing the Netherlands at the World Cup.
Dutch coach Ronald Koeman told Ziergsee that he needs to start more games if he wants to be considered if his team qualifies for next summer’s North American tournament.
Zirksee wants to remain in the Premier League, but is open to returning to a club in Europe if that means leaving United.
