crisis? What crisis? Liverpool are fourth in the table, four points behind leaders Arsenal.
However, on August 31st, everything seemed to get a little easier as Arne Slott was thought to have signed Marc Göch in what many believed to be the best Premier League team ever built in terms of pure quality.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure has yet to be seriously addressed, as if he were the most talented right-back to ever set foot in England.
What do his detractors make of the fact that Liverpool have become a worse defensive team since he left for Real Madrid? Perhaps with these two titles and winning the Champions League he will be recognized a little more.
Alexander Isak and Florian Wirths have proven to be unnecessary spends, and Liverpool can no longer build their attack in the same way as they have for the past seven years.
Struggling Mohamed Salah has lost his most trusted lieutenant, and the rest of the squad has yet to step up. However, over time, this team will learn how to get the most out of each other.

It’s certainly not ideal for Liverpool at the moment, but talk of a ‘crisis’ is outlandish to say the least. There are only 8 games left in the season!
Losing at home to their biggest rivals will definitely hurt, but there’s still plenty of time to make up for it. After making a slew of signings over the summer, it always takes a while for teams to get their signings right.
Granted, some of the new players have yet to hit the ground running, but there’s no chance that Liverpool won’t be fighting for the title with so much shameful wealth at their disposal.
Football these days has become too reactionary. Shall we calm down a little?

Liverpool are struggling for a variety of reasons and Slott is being tested for the first time in his career at Anfield.
Mohamed Salah turned 33 before the season started, making it impossible for him to maintain his world-class form for another season. His big contract probably did little to keep him hungry either.
It turns out that Trent Alexander-Arnold has suffered a huge loss, and his creativity has yet to be compensated. Conor Bradley at right-back won’t be able to emulate the impact the Real Madrid player had on Merseyside, and Milos Kerkes isn’t an upgrade over Andy Robertson at the other end.
There’s a good chance Slott’s summer contract choices will hinder his team. Hugo Ekitike started the season well but is now out of the starting line-up after the Reds decided to sign Alexander Isak.
Liverpool didn’t need to sign either player, but Slott shouldn’t have released his best players so early in the season in favor of players who arrived at the club unfit after a chaotic pre-season game against Newcastle.
Isak will do well, but the jury is still out on Florian Wirths, who has not had enough time to adapt to English football. However, momentum is key in football and if Liverpool fail to improve in the coming weeks, their ambitions to retain the Premier League title could be out of reach by Christmas.

I actually think Liverpool are in crisis. Because it’s not just about players needing time to gel. The whole system is in disarray and almost every player, whether a new signing or an Anfield veteran, is unlucky because of it. Rather than last year’s champions, they are Brendan Rodgers’ last Liverpool team.
Their build-up play is slow and sluggish, they can’t control the game and their defense is wide open, their attacks are wasteful, and their decision-making is consistently poor. No confidence or rhythm. Judging by his “fuck it, let’s bring in all the forwards” round of substitutions, Slott doesn’t seem to know how to solve that – at least for now.
That’s a big problem for a guy who made very few mistakes last year. Wirtz looks like a player who will be successful long-term. But now Liverpool are torn between building around Salah or Wirtz, who has gone from being the league’s best player to being Chelsea’s most memorable.
But the biggest problem is how bad their defense is and how easy it is to score goals against them. Slots needs to fix that ASAP. Then he has to give this team some identity in possession again. Because if this situation continues, Liverpool’s only chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League will be by winning the Champions League.
