Liverpool 1-2 Man UTD: Ruben Amorim’s side achieved a stunning victory at Anfield, finally giving the Red Devils manager back-to-back Premier League wins.
Manchester United have ended their nine-year wait for victory at Anfield thanks to Harry Maguire’s late winner. Brian Mbeumo’s early goal was canceled out by Liverpool star Kodi Gakpo, but Maguire headed home in the embers to give Ruben Amorim their first back-to-back Premier League wins.
United got off to a great start, taking the lead after just 63 seconds with Mbeumo’s goal. Forward Amad played a through ball and Bruno Fernandes collected the loose ball in midfield.
Mbeumo came on behind Giorgi Mamadashvili and made it 1-0 in the Kop match. The Red Devils almost doubled their lead after Matheus Cunha’s play saw Fernandes hit the post.
The second half was even more tense. Amorim made the changes as United look to become the first United team to win at Anfield since 2016 (10 games, six manager’s first time), scoring with Maguire’s header from a fine volley from Fernandes.

Matthijs de Ligt 6.5 – This was his best performance since joining the Red Devils, but he was unable to stop Gakpo, who was initially marked by Maguire, from scoring.
Harry Maguire 7 – Mostly solid, but dragged from his position in Gakpo’s goal. Then came the big moment.
Luke Shaw 6 – Almost silenced Mo Salah.
Amad 7 – Great assist and then a lot of defensive duties. It was unfortunate that he received a yellow card for his spectacular sliding tackle.
Casemiro 6 – A well-deserved warning for a foul on Salah. I replaced Amad an hour ago.
Bruno Fernandes 8 – Should have scored in the first half, but was lively from the start. His assist was great.
Diogo Dalot 6 – Vulnerable at times, but helped the show well. I was definitely playing on the wrong side.
Brian Mbeumo 8 – Scored with ice running through his veins. I was stripped of my equalizer.
Matheus Cunha 6.5 – Ran hard and played well to give Fernandes a chance.
Mason Mount 6 – Quietly went about his business.
