Manager Roberto Mancini has reportedly been contacted by Nottingham Forest following the decision to sack manager Ange Postecoglou on Saturday.
Manager Roberto Mancini has reportedly been contacted by Nottingham Forest, who are looking for a replacement for Ange Postecoglou. Postecoglou was given his marching orders just 39 days after taking over the Reds. This followed Forest’s 3-0 victory over Chelsea in their own half on Saturday.
Despite only taking over from Nuno Espirito Santo in September, the board decided to sever ties with Nuno Espirito Santo after he failed to win a single game in his first eight games. This opens the door for Mancini to potentially join the fray at the City Ground, but Forest are languishing in 18th place in the Premier League with a record of one win, two draws and five defeats.
According to The Athletic, Forest are “in contact” with Mancini about a potential move to the Trent side. The 60-year-old Italian has been unemployed since stepping down as head coach of the Saudi national team last year, but has had an impressive career, Nottinghamshire Live reports.

He has been linked with a surprise move to Manchester United, with The Sun reporting that he has told friends he could take the top job at Old Trafford if Ruben Amorim is released by the club.
However, such a move is highly unlikely, even without taking into account Mancini’s Manchester City past.
There may not even be a vacant seat at Old Trafford, where the 2012 Premier League champions won, for some time to come. United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has said he wants Ruben Amorim to remain at the club despite a poor year for the Portuguese manager.
“He hasn’t had his best season,” Sir Jim said on The Business podcast. “Ruben has three years to prove that he is a great coach.
“That’s where I am. The press doesn’t understand sometimes. They want overnight success.
“They think of it as a light switch, you flip the switch and tomorrow everything will fall apart.
“You can’t run a club like Manchester United by reacting randomly to journalists who abuse you on a weekly basis.”
