Elliott Anderson has established himself in England this season and could face a big-money offer next summer, either before or after the World Cup.
Manchester are planning a £75m raid on Nottingham Forest to sign rising star Elliott Anderson.
However, City manager Josep Guardiola is expected to face stiff competition for his signature from top-flight rivals Chelsea. Guardiola has been closely monitoring Anderson’s development and is a big fan of the England international.
And Guardiola has identified Anderson as one of his main transfer targets if he aims to strengthen his midfield next summer. Nico Gonzalez has struggled to make an impact at the Etihad, while Rodri’s long-term future remains in doubt.
The Ballon d’Or winner is a target for Real Madrid and could be tempted to move to the Spanish giants if he fails to agree a new contract with City.

There will be no shortage of admirers for Anderson next summer, with Chelsea also keen to lure him to Stamford Bridge. He joined Forest from Newcastle in 2024 in a £35m deal and established himself as one of the Premier League’s brightest talents.
His progress was recognized by manager Thomas Tuchel, who handed him his first call-up to the England squad in August. Since then, the 22-year-old has won three caps and established himself in Tuchel’s squad.
He is expected to be included in Tuchel’s final squad for next summer’s North American World Cup. If he proves his ability on the biggest stage and returns from the finals, his value is expected to increase dramatically.
If City decide to sign Anderson, club leaders will aim to reach an agreement with Forest before the competition begins.
Anderson, on the other hand, will want to avoid playing in a tournament that is fraught with speculation about his future.
