Chelsea star Moises Caicedo has released an explosive statement revealing that his agent Manuel Sierra is no longer representing him, and later deleted the post. “Chelsea Football Club star Moises Caicedo has parted ways with former football agent Manuel Sierra of Football Division Worldwide and will no longer be represented by his agent, as will Epic’s Ali Barratt,” the announcement read on Instagram.
“The contract ends on August 14, 2025, and the player has now appointed someone he trusts.” The last sentence of his statement was certainly fascinating, suggesting a rift was likely, but the post was later deleted by Caicedo on Monday night.
Caicedo’s former agent, Sierra, helped broker a move from Brighton to the Blues, despite admitting that Liverpool had put forward a more credible offer. Meanwhile, Barratt currently represents a number of high-profile names in football who have been linked with Chelsea in the recent past, including Noni Madueke and Nicholas Jackson.
Caicedo was also thought to be on his roster, but the aforementioned statement proved otherwise. The Ecuadorian international has been exceptional so far this season, scoring two great goals in addition to his tireless efforts in midfield.
Caicedo remained at Cobham throughout the October international break as one of the players who had minor concerns. “This afternoon we will evaluate Caicedo, João Pedro and Andrei Santos,” Enzo Maresca said in a press conference ahead of the Champions League game against Benfica at the end of September.
“Unfortunately for us, they’re all players who have had some small issues, so we’ll find out tomorrow whether they’re available or not. Obviously, we have injuries at the moment, but we believe we have enough depth in the team to cover those injuries.”
Caicedo played the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 win, and was able to repeat the feat a few days later in the 2-1 win over Liverpool. Chelsea will be looking to make it three wins in a row this weekend when they face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday lunchtime.
Pedro and Caicedo are expected to be fit to play, although they will not feature for Brazil and Ecuador respectively, but there are concerns about Enzo Fernandes, who has left the Argentina camp. His national team was due to play against Puerto Rico in the early hours of Wednesday morning, but he has now not taken part and has returned to Cobham with the aim of playing for Chelsea.
