Thomas Frank is said to be looking for another player to join him at Tottenham after leaving Brentford this summer after missing out on signing familiar Brian Mbeumo
Tottenham are eyeing Brentford star Kevin Shade ahead of next summer’s transfer window. The attacker, who worked with Thomas Frank when he was manager of the Bees, made an impression in west London.
Shade signed for Brentford for a then-club record £22 million, turning his loan spell into a permanent move and is under contract until 2028. The Germany international has been thrust into the forefront of Keith Andrews’ plans following the summer departures of Brian Mbeumo and Yoan Wissa.
Sky Germany reports that Spurs are one of several teams monitoring the 23-year-old’s progress. Schade finished last season with 12 goals and three assists, and this season he has played in seven games and scored one goal.
The Lilywhites were active in signing positive players over the summer. After Frank arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the team considered signing Mbeumo.
Spurs pushed to hijack Manchester United’s bid for a £70m transfer fee. However, the forward eventually moved to Old Trafford.

Franck did have Mohamed Kudus join his ranks, while Matthijs Tell’s transfer became complete and he signed Randal Kolo Muani in the subsequent window. However, it appears that they are already considering signing another attacker for next summer.
And Schade appears to be on the shortlist. That may not be surprising considering Frank’s verdict on this talent just a few months ago.
Frank was full of praise for the winger after Schade scored against Manchester United last May. “He’s grown a lot this season,” he said.
“Scoring 10 goals – not many players have scored 10 goals in the Premier League in their career – and he’ll probably be even better next year. That’s the plan,” said the Dane.
“His pace is not good and his header threat inside the box was two great headers[against United]the first one was an incredible header and the second one was just top class. But if you keep it going longer, he is also a player who can win with flick-ons and with set-pieces in both boxes, he works hard.”
Meanwhile, United have already poached more talent from the G Tech Stadium. The Red Devils recently appointed Brentford chief operating officer Amesh Manek as their new director of football operations.
Stephen Torpey also made the switch after starting work as United’s academy director. He was previously responsible for reopening Brentford’s academy in 2022.
