LONDON (AP) – Arsenal captain Martin Odegard was kicked out by West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday after suffering a left knee injury.
Norwegian International was replaced in 30 minutes at Emirates Stadium. This season he was his third time in the first half of the game due to an injury.
“I think he hit his knees and he was uncomfortable right away,” said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. “I just spoke to him and he’s not positive about it. He has braces. You have to wait and see from the doctor. But we weren’t very lucky either.”
Odegaard has just recently returned after a shoulder injury. He was replaced by Martin Zubimendi.
Arsenal won 2-0.
This is the third time Odegard has been kicked out in the first half in many home games in the Premier League.
He left against Leeds in August due to a shoulder injury in the 38th minute. He then recurred an injury to Nottingham Forest last month and took off on the 18th.
“I’ve never had this injury for any reason, two shoulders and two times since the start of the season,” Arteta said. “We find solutions, but our captain is a player who gives us a completely different dimension to what he can do, especially in attacks.
