BERLIN (AP) – Karim Adeemie scored once more as Borussia Dortmund defeated Mainz 2-0 on Saturday in a row with Bundesliga leader Bayern Munich.
Dortmund had to do it without star forward Serho Guilassi, who was pulled out before kickoff due to leg issues. Guirassy took a blow last weekend with a 1-0 victory over Wolfsburg. Instead, Julian Blunt lined up just behind Front 2.
Blunt founded Daniel Svenson for the opener in the 27th minute after Paul Nebel hit the post on the other side.
Adeyemi did it 2-0 in another 40-day counterattack, cutting out a pass and played 1-2 at Brandt before scoring in the second straight game, moving forward.
Mainz’s outlook took another knock when goalkeeper Robin Zentner was sent off on the 67th to defeat Adeemi.
Dortmund coach Niko Kovač sent Portuguese forward Fabio Silva late in his debut.
Dortmund is the only unbeaten team outside Bayern, with Dortmund leading two behind with up to 15 points after Dortmund opened in a draw.
Bayer Leberkusen won 2-1 at St. Pauli, but Patrick Sick was injured with injuries when Alex Grimaldo also appeared to have been injured.
Heidenheim defeated Augsburg 2-1 at home. This was hit by a visit to manager Sandrow Wagner, who lost four consecutive wins.
Johann Bakayoko’s early goal was enough for Leipzig to win 1-0 at Wolfsberg.
Eintrohat Frankfurt was later visiting Borussia Menchenradbach.
