Milan (AP) – AC Milan and Inter Milan If the city council approved the sale of Sansilo to the club, they announced a contract with construction company Foster + Partners and Manica.

Last week, the city council announced preliminary approval for a sale worth 107 million euros ($233 million), for 99-year-old San Siro and its surrounding area, according to the Italian tax agency.
The new 71,500-seat venue will be part of an urban regeneration project that covers approximately 281,000 square meters (more than 3 million square feet), the club said in a joint statement without revealing its visual plans.
The new stadium “features two large layers with slopes designed to ensure optimal visibility from all sections,” the club added. “We also meet the highest accessibility standards, provide a dedicated experience for all our fans, and offer an affordable section.”
Both clubs have backup plans to build a new stadium outside of Milan if a deal occurs with the city of San Siro.
San Silo is scheduled to hold the opening ceremony of the Milan Cortina Olympics in February.
The idea is to prepare a new stadium when Italy co-hosts 2032 European Championship With Türkiye.
“UEFA says they’re not considering Milan,” Mayor Giuseppe Sara said, “if San Siro remains as is.”
Foster + Partners and Manica projects include Wembley Stadium in London, Chase Centre in San Francisco and Lusail Stadium in Qatar.
