Lisbon, Portugal (AP) – Teen goalkeeper Sherkankarmza has saved a penalty in his Champions League debut for Kazakhstan team Kairat on Thursday and became the youngest player to do so.

Kalmurza made several other great stops, but failed to prevent a 4-1 loss to Sports Lisbon in the Kazakh club’s debut at the European Elite Club Competition.

In 18 years 96 days ago, Carmurza was the third youngest goalkeeper to play in the tournament, UEFA said.

He also became the second youngest oldest to save on penalties after 18-year-old Benfica’s Mile Subiral, who was stopped by Manchester United’s Anthony Marshall in 2017.

It was still 0-0 when sports captain Morten Fujlmand sent him the wrong way, but Carmurza managed to stretch in 21 minutes to block a spot kick with his right foot.

One goal that Calmurza admitted was being netted by another teenager on the other side, Forward Geo Bunny Quenda. Geovanniquenda, 18, dribbled several defenders before finishing his defeat 141 days ago.
