PANA CITY (AP) – Suriname scored 2-1 from Edge Edge Edge Salvador on Monday, 2-1, leading in Group A after Panama struggled at home in a 1-1 draw with Guatemala in World Cup qualifying.
The Panama, who played Russia’s first and only World Cup in 2018, was a group favourite after losing to Mexico in the National League Finals earlier this year.
Oscar Santis led Guatemala in the 35th minute, and Carlos Harvey was equal after two minutes.
Suriname secured an away victory at El Salvador, with Raginio Balker earning the header on the 12th, and on the 81st, Doraso More Class fired the winner.
El Salvador scored an goal for Anfernee Dijksteel himself on the 73rd.
