Paris (AP) – French midfielder Adrian Rabiot National coach of Didier Deschamps is permitted to join his teammates late to finalize his club’s move from Marseille to AC Milan.
Speaking at the press conference, Deschamps said Rabiot would arrive at training camp in France later on Monday and be able to take medical care on the Serie A side. L’Equipe Newspaper reported that AC Milan had reached an agreement with Olympic de Marseille on Sunday evening at a rate of 10 million euros ($12 million).
Rabiot returned to the Italian league just a year after Juventus came to Marseille.
Rabiot was one of Marseille’s best players last season, helping the 1993 Champions League winners return to the top club competition in Europe. However, he was on the transfer list last month following a fight with his teammates with under-21 Jonathan Lowe in England.
The pair argued and fought in the locker room after a 1-0 defeat to Rennes in the opening game of the league one season. Lowe has since joined Serie A. Side Bologni.
Marseille competed in the Champions League after finishing second place in Paris Saint-Germain in League One in his first season at the club.
Rabiot, 30, moved as a free agent After his contract expired at Juventus last September.
France will begin its 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign against Ukraine on Friday.
