LONDON (AP) — Chelsea striker Nicholas Jackson’s proposed loan move to Bayern Munich has been questioned at the last minute.
Video footage shows the Senegalese striker arrived in Munich on Saturday, and reportedly completed his switch to Bayern after losing his favor at Chelsea.
However, reports in the UK media said Chelsea had come out of contract early in the team’s 2-0 victory in the Premier League on Saturday due to Liam Dellup’s injuries. Delap is one of the two senior strikers on the Chelsea team, along with Joao Pedro.
Chelsea did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Bayern sports board member Max Eval said the club “takes time to deal with that after the match” before the team’s match in Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Bayern “thinks about it, sees what happens, and acts accordingly,” Ebal said. “I can’t say exactly what’s going on right now.”
Chelsea sold another striker on Saturday, and Christopher Nukank set out for AC Milan.
Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal in June 2023 and signed an extension in 2033 last September. However, he lowered the pecking order under the supervision of Enzo Maresca.
