Liverpool, England (AP) – Man arrested on suspicion Racially abuses Bournemo’s forward Antoine Semeño It was released on conditional bail during a Premier League match, police said Monday.
Merseyside police said the 47-year-old Liverpool man could not attend soccer matches in the UK or within a mile (1.6 km) of the UK soccer stadium while releasing bail.
The man was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order crimes after reporting to the judge that he had been racially abused by spectators early in the Bournemouth match against Liverpool in Anfield on Friday. The man was taken from the stadium shortly after alleged incidents, which led to a brief halt in play.
The investigation “is still ongoing and we continue to work closely with the club,” Merseyside police said.
