BERLIN (AP) – Erik Ten Hag won the championship as coach of Bayer Leverkusen in the first round of the German Cup on Friday with a 4-0 result with fourth-tier team Sonnenhof Großaspach.
Patrick Thick, Brazilian Wing Back Arthur, debutant Christian Cofan and Alex Grimaldo all scored, but only assumed control after Groséspach’s captain Volcan Serikwas was sent in two appointments in the 66th on the 26th.
Leverkusen was forced to defend for a long period after a 32-minute opener for Schick. The Czech forward had to clear the ball from the line.
