Birmingham, England (AP) — Aston Villa made its first major signing of the summer on Friday, landing Ivory Forward Evan Supposition from a French club with a reporting fee of at least 30 million euros ($35 million).
He scored 13 goals in total at the 24-year-old and last season, playing mainly as a winger and being selected as a nice player of the season.
Villa described him as “a versatile operator who can play on the front line.” Neither team has disclosed financial terms. The deal reportedly includes an additional €5 million in potential add-ons.
“This club is special,” he said in the announcement of the villa. “History, pride, passion, belief. When I heard the club wanted me, I never thought of it again.”
Unai Emery’s team will launch the August 16 Premier League campaign hosting Newcastle.
Nice has issued a statement as a French-born speculation and “model of resilience.” He rose through the team’s youth system and made his first team debut in January 2020.
