Four months after leaving Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso has reportedly signed a four-year contract as Chelsea’s new manager, according to Fabrizio Romano. With an official announcement just around the corner, he is already working on plans for next season with his Basque coach at Stamford Bridge.
Xabi Alonso was sacked by Real Madrid on January 12 last year after a period marked by inconsistent performances and a difficult relationship with the stalwarts of the dressing room, but will soon return to the dugout. The Tolosa-born manager is said to have backed Chelsea’s project, saying it is a priority for the club.
