World Cup players earn $5,000 a day for their clubs from the $355 million FIFA Fund

FIFA on Friday released details on how it will allocate revenue shares to clubs whose players are among the 1,248 players selected for the 48-team tournament in North America. Players called up for 905 qualifying games.

The soccer adjudication body said players who took part in the qualification program earned $2,360 per match for the clubs they were registered with during that period.

209 national teams played the match, so thousands of clubs around the world should get some money. Only Eritrea and Russia, which is suspended from international competitions, did not participate.

Manchester City have selected 19 players for this World Cup, the most of any club. That too gained the largest share The 2022 Qatar tournament and the final in Russia four years ago were paid for through the FIFA payment program.

City previously paid $4.6 million, with $5 million per tournament coming from a $209 million endowment.

It was agreed that FIFA’s funding for clubs would be $355 million for the tournament in 2023. There will be $250 million in compensation for players participating in the World Cup, and $100 million for clubs that send players to qualifying matches.

FIFA said the remaining $5 million would be used for administrative costs.

Other clubs set to receive millions of dollars from FIFA include Bayern Munich, who have selected 18 players, and Champions League finalists Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, who have selected 16 players each. Outside of Europe, Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal is the most represented club with 12 players.

Crystal Palace defeated Liverpool and Real Madrid. The new European Conference League champions have 12 players participating in this World Cup, compared to Liverpool’s 11 and Madrid’s 10.
