FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) – Eintracht Frankfurt appointed Adi Hütter as manager on Sunday, with the Austrian returning to the Bundesliga and the club he left five years ago.

“Looking back, I always felt like I had unfinished business, so I’m all the more pleased to have the opportunity to approach this work with so much effort, discipline and clear focus.”
Hütter first took charge of Frankfurt in 2018 and led them to the Europa League semi-finals in his first season. In 2021, he moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach.
His last job was at Monaco, where he led the team to second and third place finishes in the French league. he was fired in october After a poor start to the season.
“Adi Hütter represents brave attacking football, clarity and discipline,” said Frankfurt sporting director Markus Kroesche. “He has proven during his career that he can combine fast-paced transition play with possession. Especially at Monaco, he was able to effectively develop and stabilize one of the youngest teams in the league, allowing the team to establish itself as a member of France’s elite.”

Hütter also led Red Bull Salzburg to an Austrian league and cup double title and led Young Boys Bern to the Swiss league title in 2018.
