Liverpool’s search for their next manager continues alne slot fired One year after winning the Premier League.

liverpool A person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on Saturday that the team is looking for someone who can implement an “aggressive, urgent” style of soccer.

The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the club has not released details of the selection process.

It is clear that Liverpool are looking for someone who can recapture the high energy of former manager Jurgen Klopp, who won numerous trophies during his time at Anfield, including the Premier League and Champions League.

Slott also won the title, but it lacked the thrill of Klopp’s so-called heavy metal football.

The frontrunner to replace Slott is outgoing Spanish manager Andoni Iraola, who led Bournemouth to European qualification this season.

Iraola’s Bournemouth established themselves as one of the Premier League’s most entertaining teams, regularly upsetting high-profile opponents with far greater spending power with their punch above their weight.

Iraola developed talents such as Antoine Semenho, Dean Huyssen and Milos Kerkes, who all went on to move on to bigger teams. Despite this, they finished sixth this season, just one place and three points behind Liverpool, who are fighting for the final spot in the Champions League spot.

Liverpool have not revealed the names of potential candidates, but the process of drawing up a shortlist has already begun.

In line with the forward he signed last year and his targets in the next transfer window, he is looking for a coach who fits his preferred style of play, which is front-foot, attacking football.

Players like Florian Wirtz, Jeremy Frimpong and injury-hit striker Alexander Isak were underwhelming in their debut seasons at the club.

Liverpool’s leaders want to bring in a new coach as soon as possible to give them as much time as possible to prepare for next season.

Mr Slott’s appointment came after an extensive investigation proved successful. Slott led the club to a record-tying 20th English league title in his first year in charge. Liverpool have now said: “We have come to the conclusion that changes are necessary if the club is to continue moving forward.”

He said a “change of direction” and “different approach” were needed.

In a summer of high-profile managerial changes, another front-runner in former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has already been hired by Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is considered to be the favorite to take over as Manchester City manager following the resignation of Josep Guardiola.

Oliver Glasner, who won back-to-back titles with Crystal Palace over the past two seasons, is also available, but his style of play may not suit him.

Bookmakers have also named Stuttgart’s Sebastian Hoeness and Germany national team coach Julian Nagelsmann as potential candidates.
