A Czech women’s soccer coach has been banned for life by the sport’s European governing body UEFA after she secretly filmed her players in locker rooms and shower rooms.
1. Former FC Slovacko coach Petr Vlahovski was found guilty last year of filming more than a dozen women over a four-year period in the Czech Republic. In the country, he received a one-year suspended prison sentence and a five-year ban from coaching.
UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee ruled that Vlachowski had breached the rules on offensive or obscene conduct. A lifetime suspension was announced on Tuesday.
UEFA also asked FIFA to impose an international ban on Vulakhovski and asked the Czech Football Federation to revoke his coaching license.
“This result sends a strong and necessary message that there is no place for abusive and inappropriate behavior in football and that protecting the health of players must remain a priority at all levels of the game,” world players’ association FIFPRO said in a statement.
Vlachowski was arrested in 2023 after authorities discovered the footage online. He coached at 1.FC Slovacko for nearly 15 years. He also coached the Czech Republic U-19 women’s national team.
