MONTREAL (AP) — Hugo Kuipers scored his MLS-leading 13th goal of the season, Philippe Zinkernagel added a goal and an assist and the Chicago Fire defeated CF Montreal 2-0 on Saturday.
Kuipers has scored at least one goal in each game he has played this season, becoming the third player in MLS history to score in 10 consecutive regular season games.
Chris Brady made six saves for Chicago, which has his sixth shutout this season.
The Fire defeated DC United (7-4-2) 3-1 On Wednesday, they ended their losing streak at three and won back-to-back games.
Zinkernagel took the lead in the 14th minute, running in after Brian Berra’s failed clearance and firing a first-touch shot into the net from just inside the top of the penalty area.
Thomas Guillier made four saves for Montreal (4-8-1).
The Fire beat Montreal 3-0 Feb. 28 at Soldier Field.
