Arne Slott has had enough of Mo Salah’s subliminal jabs as Liverpool continue to be distracted before the end of the season

At the moment, every Liverpool fan wants this season to end. After an incredible Premier League win, the Reds have been completely defeated in every competition this season. Both players and coaches seem to want to move on to the next step as soon as possible.

The internal rift between club legend Mohamed Salah and manager Arne Slott has worsened this season, leaving an ugly stain on Slott’s resume. The deterioration of relations this season was clear for all to see, with both sides exchanging verbal jabs in the media. With just a few games remaining, Salah continues to take subliminal shots at the way Liverpool are operating under Slott and their future.

Mo Salah hasn’t stopped voicing concerns about Liverpool’s present and future

His recent comments have focused on the team’s gym habits. Players feel like they’re missing out on that front, and I’m not sure whether it’s the slots, the training staff or other players that are setting an example.

“When I left, I said to them we need an example here. We want people to come to the gym early and people look at them and say, ‘Oh, he’s in the gym, so I have to go too.'” If that doesn’t happen, I think it’s going to be difficult for this club because it’s something that is very, very necessary. People set the bar high, like they have to come early. People have to go to the gym. ”

Virgil van Dijk echoed Salah’s comments in his post-match interview after his team’s loss to Manchester United. “There’s a lot of work to be done behind the scenes,” Van Dijk said. It was also taken as a disdain for slots.

The coach was asked about both of his players’ statements this week and answered honestly. He initially avoided conflict by agreeing with Salah’s opinion, saying: “Mo says that standards are really important for a football club. I couldn’t agree more!”

The media continued to press him on the matter, insisting that high standards were needed across the club. Slott then made an eye-opening comment.

“Next season, I am completely confident that we have enough players to apply the standards exactly where they are needed. Standards are important not only in the gym…but also on the pitch. You understand? Without me saying anything?”

Tensions at Anfield remain very high and will remain so until the end of this season.
