BARCELONA, Spain (AP) – Hansi Flick has announced that he has reached an agreement to extend his contract by at least one year, potentially allowing him to manage La Liga champions Barcelona until 2029.
Barcelona have not officially announced a contract extension.
Flick also said on Tuesday that Barcelona aim to break the 100-point mark by winning their remaining three league games this season. Barcelona reached 91 points Retained the title with a 2-0 win over Real Madrid on sunday.
Flick said he was “really happy” with the extension until the end of the 2027-2028 season (his current contract was due to expire after next season). Both parties have an option to extend for another year.
“They gave me and my team the confidence to work for another year or two,” he said. “I’m really grateful. I’ll go in ’28 and then we’ll see. If everything goes right, I’ll make the decision to get another year. The club has the rights, I have the rights, and I think it’s a good deal. It’s a really good deal for me.”

Barcelona visit Alaves on Wednesday with a goal of 100 points in mind.
“The team and I want 100 points, and for that we have to win the remaining three games,” Flick said.
“Right place”
Flick and His father died before Sunday’s Clasico against MadridHe previously said he had no intention of coaching again after his spell at Barcelona ends.
“The last few days they showed me that I’m in the right place,” Flick said on Tuesday.
He joined Barcelona in May 2024, replacing Xavi Hernández. Flick previously coached Bayern Munich and the German national team.
