LOS ANGELES (AP) — Rapper 50 cents and nelly with electronic music duo the chainsmokers Become a headliner in four new cities world cup A concert series started this summer by Sports Illustrated.
The event series announced Monday is called SI Beyond the Pitch and will bring concerts and VIP fan experiences to Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami and New York during the World Soccer Tournament. As an additional performance, Diplo And Gordo.
The Los Angeles kickoff event is scheduled for June 12th at the Hollywood Palladium and will be headlined by Nelly. Gordo will be featured at SILO in Dallas on June 20th, and The Chainsmokers will be featured at DAER in Miami on June 26th. The series concludes on July 18th with performances by 50 Cent and Diplo at Cipriani Wall Street.
The series is one of Sports Illustrated’s largest efforts to date in live entertainment and experiential events surrounding major sports moments.
“This is more than just a tournament. It’s the most important sporting event to hit American soil in a generation,” Medium Rare founder and CEO Joe Silberzweig said in a statement. The series expands the brand’s presence in premium live events associated with major sports weekends and cultural moments.
“We are capitalizing on that energy and introducing the most exciting nightlife experience the global football community has ever seen,” he said.
This announcement follows recent successes in SI The Party Super Bowl weekend featured performances by The Chainsmokers and Ludacris, along with celebrity guests such as Justin Bieber, Travis Kelce and Ciara.
