Shortly after Paris Saint-Germain defeated Bayern Munich to reach the Champions League final, Luis Enrique shared his thoughts on facing Arsenal.
Luis Enrique has warned that his Paris Saint-Germain side are preparing for a “difficult” Champions League final against Arsenal. The French giants reached the final for the second consecutive season.
They defeated Bayern Munich 6-5 on aggregate and drew 1-1 against Germany in Munich to qualify for the high-profile event. Last season, PSG defeated the Gunners in the semi-final stage.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side could still reach the final in Budapest as Premier League champions. Enrique looks ahead to the showdown on May 30th and shares his thoughts on what awaits when both teams take to the pitch at the Puskas Arena at the end of the month.
When asked about the possibility of exchanging ideas with residents of north London, Enrique’s key word was “difficult.” He said in full: “Thank you Michelito Arteta!

“We were team-mates when we were kids. He’s done a great job for Arsenal. It’s going to be a difficult and tough game, but we believe in our style of football.”
When asked about his team’s performance against Bayern, he added: “It’s a good memory. We finished the game with great intensity. Our defense was better than our attack.”
“The character we showed against a team like Bayern was very positive. I’m very happy to reach the Champions League final for the second year in a row. It was very exciting.
“It’s very difficult. They play football at the highest level. Both teams are similar. We love to press higher. We are very happy. We will be celebrating our birthday in two days. We are very happy.”
“We are at the next stage of the competition, the Champions League final. We want to give such a gift to our supporters.”
PSG star Hviča Kvaratschelia also spoke about facing the Gunners in the final in the post-match interview. “We respect all teams,” said the Georgian, who scored 10 goals and provided six assists in the team’s Champions League campaign.
“For us, it’s important to play our game. We don’t really think about who our opponent will be. We just prepare our game and give our best on the pitch. It’s going to be difficult, but it’s the Champions League final. And we just go and have fun.”
The showdown in Budapest will be Arsenal’s first Champions League final since the 2006 final at the Stade de France. The Gunners took the lead thanks to Sol Campbell’s powerful header, but lost 1-2 to Barcelona.
