SEATTLE (AP) — Few cities in North America enjoy summer weather like Seattle, in the Pacific Northwest, with sunny skies and low humidity after Memorial Day.
However, the venue, Emerald City, 2026 FIFA World Cup For the first time in history, it is a destination city for reasons other than its warm climate.
Landmarks/Attractions
No trip to Seattle is complete without a visit to the Space Needle. It underwent a $100 million renovation in 2018.. Pike Place Market is one of the oldest continuously operating public farmers markets in the United States and is always crowded with tourists and locals. Gas Works Park and Kelly Park both offer panoramic views of the city.
Seattle food scene
From dive bars serving fresh oysters to upscale establishments serving Alaskan king crab legs, few metropolitan areas can match Seattle’s abundance of seafood restaurants. The area also has a number of Japanese and Hawaiian restaurants, many of which specialize in fresh sushi rolls and chicken teriyaki, respectively. What better way to end your night than with a visit to Molly Moon’s Ice Cream, a local favorite.

Outside of Seattle, nine fan zones will be located across Washington state: Bellingham, Bremerton, Everett, Olympia, Tacoma, Spokane, Pasco, Vancouver and Yakima. They all vary greatly in what they offer and where they are held. Spokane’s Fun Zone is located on an island in the middle of the Spokane River. Meanwhile, Puyallup Tribal Headquarters will host a fan zone in Tacoma.
Transportation options
Seattle has one of the best public transportation systems in the United States. Link, the Seattle metropolitan area’s light rail system, includes Line 1, which stops at Stadium Station, just a few blocks from Seattle Stadium. A special “Sounder Game Train” runs north and south of Seattle to King Street Station, across from Seattle Stadium.

Few stadiums in North America are as noisy as Seattle Stadium. Seattle Stadium changed its name from its usual nickname (Lumen Field) for the World Cup. The 67,000-seat outdoor stadium offers views to the north and south, with the former offering glimpses of downtown Seattle. In April, a turf field was installed at Seattle Stadium. Artificial turf is typically used for games between the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Sounders FC, and Seattle Reign FC.
