NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Angel Correa scores in the 33rd minute.Nahuel Guzman made four saves and Tigres defeated Nashville 1-0 in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup semifinals on Tuesday night.
The teams will meet again in Mexico on May 5th, with the aggregate winner qualifying for the single match final on May 30th.
Correa scored his 23rd goal of the season in all competitions, volleying the ball away from goalkeeper Brian Schwake’s hands. Nashville struggled to clear a loose ball at the top of the box, allowing Correa to score.
This was the first away goal allowed by Nashville in the tournament.
In the 30th minute, Schweig made a good kick save from Juan Brunetta’s shot from close range.
Nashville, without Sam Surridge due to a back injury, appeared to take a 1-0 lead in the sixth inning, but it was ruled offside.
The game was delayed about an hour due to weather.
