BRIGHTON, England (AP) – Chelsea winger Cole Palmer and forward Joao Pedro missed Tuesday’s Premier League game against Brighton due to lingering injuries, manager Liam Rosenior said.
Palmer played the full game in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday, taking his total to 10 goals this season.
“Cole has a bit of a tightness in his hamstring and that’s what caused it,” Rosenior told Sky Sports before kick-off. “He will miss this game but we will see how he does for the FA Cup semi-final.”
Chelsea face Leeds in the FA Cup last four at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Rosenior’s side have lost four consecutive games in the Premier League, each without scoring.
Pedro has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season. He suffered a thigh injury and missed Saturday’s game against United.
Rosenior said he expected Brazil’s players to be ready for Sunday’s match at Wembley.
