Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Aurélien Cioameny to replace Casemiro, who is expected to leave Old Trafford at the end of this season.The Telegraph reports that the Red Devils are interested in the Real Madrid midfielder, and if the Spanish club were to sign Rodri Hernández, the City midfielder who did not finalize negotiations with Madrid, the move would be triggered at Old Trafford.
Negotiations with Choameni could depend on whether Madrid need to sell players to sign a new midfielder and raise the funds.
Manchester United are looking to sign two midfielders this summer, or three if Uruguayan Manuel Ugarte also leaves.
Real Madrid paid approximately 100 million yen to sign Choameni in 2022.
Real Madrid acquired Aurélien Choameny from Monaco in 2022 for a transfer fee of approximately 100 million euros + variable amount.
With Choameni in the engine room, Real Madrid won a total of eight titles: one Champions League, one La Liga, one Copa del Rey, two Club World Cups and two European Super Cups.
In England, Choameni’s possible departure from Madrid has been linked to the arrival of Rodri or Enzo Fernandes

“Florentino Perez is known for his praise of Rodri, the Madrid-born Manchester City midfielder who won the Ballon d’Or in 2024,” the publication highlights.
In England, Rodri (contracted until 2027) and Enzo Fernandes (a Chelsea midfielder who has recently attracted attention from Madrid) are touted as two of the options Real Madrid are considering to strengthen their midfield.
Meanwhile, Manchester United and Manchester City are in contention to sign highly-rated 23-year-old midfielder Elliott Anderson, with Nottingham Forest demanding more than €114 million.
At the moment, City appear to be ahead of United in this strategy.
