BOURNEMOUTH, England (AP) – Bournemouth signed Marco Rose on Monday. Successor to director Andoni Iraola A three-year contract starting this summer.

Bournemouth’s owners are attracted to Rose’s high-pressing, attacking style of play and believe it fits with the club’s identity. Rose also has Champions League and Europa League experience, meaning Bournemouth could be involved in next season’s European campaign.
The Cherries are eighth in the Premier League, level on points with Chelsea in sixth. They are on a 13-game unbeaten run, with back-to-back 2-1 wins away to Arsenal and Newcastle.
“The club’s immediate focus remains firmly on finishing this season as strongly as possible and our players and staff remain fully committed to achieving good results and building on our current 13-game unbeaten record,” the club said in a statement. “Everyone at AFC Bournemouth is looking forward to welcoming Marco to the Vitality Stadium as he begins his role as head coach in the summer.”
Bournemouth had hoped to extend Iraola’s successful three-year stay, but the Spaniard announced last week that he would leave at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Iraola took Bournemouth to 12th place in his first year in charge and to ninth place last season.
