Leicester City midfielder Harry Winks was seen having a heated exchange with supporters after the Foxes came close to being relegated from the Championship with their latest defeat. On Saturday, former Premier League side Leicester faced Portsmouth in an early kick-off at Fratton Park as they looked to improve their prospects of avoiding dropping into League One.

However, Leicester lost 1-0 against Pompey, with substitute Ivane Boite scoring the only goal of the game in the 63rd minute, handing the Foxes their 18th defeat of the season. After the final whistle, a video clip was published on social media showing Winks heading home to the Leicester team’s coach.

Winks tried to board a bus but was met with a barrage of angry supporters. He seemed to fire back as he turned around, seemingly offended by at least one comment.

The former Tottenham midfielder gave a shout-out to his team’s apparent defense despite their low position in the table and the prospect of back-to-back relegations.

One fan was heard shouting “Harry again” and another was seen taunting the 30-year-old, before Mr Winks stopped midway and fired at the steps of the bus.

The 10-cap England international yelled “fuck you”, pointed at someone and told them to “shut up” before being led away.

Leicester were expected to return to the Premier League at the time of initial inquiries, but only Sheffield Wednesday are below them in the table.

The Foxes could be relegated to League One as early as Tuesday if they draw or lose to Hull.

After the loss to Portsmouth, head coach Gary Rowett told talkSPORT: “I can say we have faith and I think we have to show that with our performance and show it with our results.”

“I said to the players, ‘Maybe we have to start hoping we can get a little bit of luck from somewhere else,’ but as a manager you don’t want to say that. We’re not interested in what other teams do, we’re interested in what we do.”

“We have to be professional as players. If we had three games left and we were already relegated, we would still want to win all three games. We don’t care. It’s a matter of pride, it’s a matter of our own standards.”

“So for me, we go into the game on Tuesday and we have to do everything we can to win the game.”
