Reims come from 2-0 down to beat Toulouse and keep their Ligue 1 title hopes alive

Reims, France (AP) — Reims conceded two goals in the first 13 minutes but rallied with a great second half to beat Toulouse 3-2 on Friday and keep alive its slim hopes of winning its first Ligue 1 title since 1998.

It helped that Toulouse midfielder Yann Gobo received a red card in the 17th minute.

Lens have been playing reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain for most of the season, but two defeats in their last two games have hurt their title hopes and they need to take all three points against a team that has scored seven goals in their last two games.

But before they realized what was happening, they were two goals behind.

Toulouse secured the victory six minutes later when goalkeeper Robin Risser parried Cristian Caceres’ shot, and seven minutes later Seny Kumbasa’s header hit the top of the crossbar.

Lens dazzled the visitors in the dying minutes, failing to get a shot on target, but it wasn’t until the 61st minute that they converted the initiative into a goal.

Saud Abdulhamid looked to break Toulouse’s resolve with a superb header, but Adrian Thomasson equalized six minutes later.

Ismael Ganiu’s 91st-minute goal sent the home fans into a frenzy and moved Lens within points of league leaders PSG.

PSG have two games left.
