ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Duncan McGuire and Martin Ojeda each scored, Javier Otero made four saves and Orlando City beat CF Montreal 2-1 on Saturday, ending a three-game losing streak in interim coach Mark Perelman’s debut.
Orlando City (1-3-0) and longtime coach Oscar Pareja mutually parted ways Wednesday.
Ojeda made it 2-1 in the 31st minute with a first-touch shot from just outside the penalty spot. Marko Pašarić’s first through ball was met by Ivan Angulo, who ran in and passed it backwards for Ojeda to score.
McGuire took the lead in the 19th minute with his first goal of the season. Angulo’s shot from the left of the area hit the near post and Maguire tapped the rebound into a wide-open net from the edge of the six-yard box.
In the 24th minute, Prince Owusu scored a header off a corner kick played by Montreal (1-3-0)’s Vikerman Carmona.
Montreal’s Thomas Gillier made four saves.
