ROME (AP) — Como retained fifth place in Serie A with a 2-1 win over Cagliari on Saturday thanks to a screamer from midfielder Lucas de Cunha.
Cesc Fabregas’ side have won three in a row in the Italian league and have only lost once in 11 games overall. Como played to a goalless draw with Inter Milan in the first leg of the Italian Cup semi-finals earlier this week.
Cagliari put Como ahead with a goal from Martin Baturina in the 14th minute.
Sebastian Esposito equalized in the 56th minute, but De Cunha scored the winner in the 76th minute with a shot from well outside the top right corner of the area and just inside the far post.
The win moved Como level on points with fourth-placed Roma a week before the encounter.
Sixth-placed Juventus exploded with four goals in the second half to beat Pisa 4-0 at home.
Juventus took the lead in the 54th minute through Andrea Cambiaso, with goals from Kefren Thuram, Kenan Yildiz and Jeremy Boga.
Seventh place Atalanta trailed by two goals, but Gianluca Scamacca scored twice in the 75th and 79th minutes to end the match in a 2-2 draw with Udinese.
