PARMA, Italy (AP) – Gaetano Oristanio came on as a substitute at halftime and scored the equalizer late on in Parma’s hard-fought 1-1 home draw in Serie A against Cagliari on Friday.
Oristiano’s goal with seven minutes left gave Parma a point, but their poor performance at home continued. They have won just two of their last 12 home games and have not won back-to-back at the Stadio Ennio Tardini since January 2020.
However, they gained 10 points from their previous 12th place, moving them to 11th place, one point below Lazio and one point ahead of Udinese.
18 minutes into the second half, Michael Folorunsho put Cagliari ahead with a stunning 30-meter shot.
The midfielder, on loan from Napoli, missed the last 10 games due to injury and was brought on immediately after the game ended. Two minutes later, he forced Parma goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi off his line and his shot from the right touchline went over Corvi’s head and into the far corner of the goal.
It was Cagliari’s first goal since January, but they have now gone four games without a win. They sit in 13th place, six points above the relegation zone.
