BREMEN, Germany (AP) — Werder Bremen and Eintracht Frankfurt shared points in the Bundesliga on Friday after a dramatic 3-3 draw that started with a goal in the first minute and ended with a goal in the last minute.
Visit Frankfurt took the lead after 51 seconds with a superb flick from striker Arnaud Karimendo, who is on loan from Nottingham Forest.
Bremen fought back and Justin Zimmer equalized by halftime.
However, in the 11th minute of the second half, Nnamdi Collins connected with a looping pass inside the box and sent his first shot into the corner of the goal, putting them on the back foot once again.
However, Bremen showed the same resilience as before, and Jens Stage equalized with 12 minutes remaining.
Two minutes later, on-loan striker Jovan Milošević popped on to give Bremen the lead for the first time, and Die Grün-Weissen’s first win since November looked to be within reach.
However, Ansger Knauf’s volley from a cut-back in stoppage time gave Frankfurt a draw, but the goal was confirmed only after a tense video review.
The result was no surprise considering the see-saw nature of the match, which delighted a packed Weserstadion crowd.
Nevertheless, this was Bremen’s seventh game without a win, and their form at home was particularly worrying for coach Horst Steffen. He remained in 12th place.
Frankfurt was seventh.
