LYON, France (AP) — Brazilian forward endrik The player is set to make his Lyon debut in Sunday’s French Cup game against Lille, but is unlikely to start the game.
Endrik, 19, has barely played for the Spanish giants this season and is on loan from Real Madrid until the end of the season.
“To be honest, he’s not ready to play 90 minutes, but I’m sure he can play a few games,” Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca said on Friday. “He has attended all our training sessions.”
Endrik played just three games for Madrid this season under new manager Xabi Alonso, but was encouraged to play elsewhere by former Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, who currently coaches Endrik with the Brazilian national team.
Endrik scored seven goals in 37 games for Madrid under Ancelotti last season, attracting attention for his speed, dribbling ability and sometimes spectacular finishing.
Endrick scored three goals for Brazil last year, including against England and Spain.
He started his career with Palmeiras, based in São Paulo, where he scored 21 goals in 82 games. “Dream” transfer to Madrid.
