The U.S. women’s team will host Canada, Argentina and Colombia in the annual SheBelieves Cup this March.
The round robin tournament will be played as a doubleheader in three cities: Nashville, TN; Columbus, Ohio. and Harrison, New Jersey. The final U.S. game at Sports Illustrated Stadium will include a ceremony for Tobin Heath, a two-time Women’s World Cup champion and New Jersey native who announced her retirement from soccer last year.
Currently, the United States ranks second in the world, Canada ranks 10th, Colombia ranks 20th, and Argentina ranks 30th.
“These three teams will likely qualify for the 2027 World Cup, and of course Canada will qualify for the World Cup at the end of the year, so the She Believes Cup is extremely valuable if we focus on our continued preparation and growth as a team,” U.S. head coach Emma Hayes said in a statement announcing Wednesday’s participation in the tournament. “Each team brings different strengths and will challenge us to succeed in all areas of this field, which is exactly what we need as we continue to build our process towards the big event on the horizon.”
Canada will play Colombia, followed by the United States facing Argentina on March 1 at GEODIS Park in Nashville. Argentina will play Colombia and the United States will play Canada on March 4 at Miracle Gro Field in Columbus. The tournament concludes on March 7 in New Jersey with games between Canada vs. Argentina and USA vs. Colombia.
The United States has won seven of the 11 SheBelieves Cup tournaments. Japan won last year’s tournament.
“This tournament is a great opportunity for us to test ourselves against a high-quality opponent who will be competing in the 2027 World Cup,” said Canada coach Casey Stoney. “The SheBelieves Cup has been a great test for our group so far, and we’re excited to be back for another chance to win this competition. Each team has a different style, which will challenge us and ultimately prepare us to be the team we need to be.”
