BOURNEMOUTH, England (AP) – Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo is set to play against Arsenal on Saturday despite reports he is close to a move to Manchester City.
“Antoine will play, yes,” Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola said at a press conference on Friday.
The Ghanaian is third in the Premier League’s scoring list this season, with his nine goals behind Erling Haaland (19) and Brentford’s Igor Thiago (11).
The Cherries host Arsenal and then Tottenham in midweek.
“The least possibility is that he will be available for these two home games,” Iraola said. “I hope he’ll be here more, but you never know what will happen.”
Iraola did not dispute reports that a transfer was imminent.
“Nothing is signed,” he said. “There’s definitely some conversation, you can hear the background noise, but there’s no sign. Antoine is our player.”
